Brief

Creativity: The Commercial Superpower
is a report that evidences the benefits of creativity within corporate business and the potential for cross-sector collaboration between the corporate, creative and cultural sectors. I was commissioned to design the report in collaboration with the legend that is Emily Parkes, to make the information easy to understand and share with both the corporate and creative sectors. The result is a 52 page interactive PDF, a 1 pager distilling fast facts, and a video to be shared on social media platforms. Click here for the full report.

Testimonial

“Lucy took the time to understand what we needed to achieve within our brief and who we were trying to reach, responding with creative ideas and solutions. In addition, she didn’t hesitate to push us to expand our assumptions or thoughts on what the final output might be, to create something distinct and effective. She created a professional and sleek report that was inviting and got the information across in an imaginative and exciting way. We valued the breadth of skills Lucy and Emily brought to the job; from design to animation within digital material, printed material and video. In the end we had 3 outputs – a report, a 1 page quick view summary and ‘preview’ video. It was truly a pleasure to work with Lucy and we highly recommend her.”

Bringing the report to life.

This short preview animation demonstrates how elements of the report can be brought to life through motion, icons and typography.

We started our design process by researching into existing reports that appeal to a broad range of audiences, whilst distilling a lot of complex data and statistics. The key to the success of our designs would be making what could be a text heavy data driven research into something easy to digest whilst also being on brand for the Culture Mile.

Once we were full of inspiration, we began to think about how the idea of these two sectors coming together could be expressed visually. The gradients are a simple and subtle nod to the corporate and creative industries coming together to understand each others’ needs. The typographic approach is uncomplicated, allowing the content to stand out.
